1005 hp Lamborghini Gallardo by Heffner Performance

After the Bugatti Veyron, and the recently launched Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, another car hits the 1000 hp limit: the Lamborghini Gallardo. With a little help from Heffner Performance, the Gallardo you see in the photos is powered by the same 5.0-liter high-rev V10 engine as the “standard” version but with a little sweetening from Heffner develops now an astonishing 1005 hp and 765lb-ft. The vehicle uses the same AWD system but due to the big amount of power a two stage boost controller limit has been installed for the 1st and 2nd gear.

The modifications for the car are extreme: the tuner installed new steels cylinder liners, new forged pistons, bearings, a new twin-turbo system with custom exhaust system, blow-off valves, Carrillo Billet Steel connecting rods rated for 1000 hp and a new clutch capable to transfer the amount of power. Also, new water pumps and fuel injectors were installed, as well as a Superleggera rear diffuser and spoiler. No words about the performances of the car but imagine that at 1005 hp the car does the 0-60 mph sprint in less than 4 seconds and has a top speed of 200+ mph.

Veno Automotive looking to build a better Lamborghini

That is not a Reventón pictured above, but rather a new Polish sports car (insert your joke here.) Lamborghini should be quite happy with the new design coming from Veno Automotive, after all imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery.

Veno has ambitious goals for the car. It says the supercar will be made from carbon fiber and the chassis can withstand the force brought on by 1000 horsepower. It will be available in coupe and roadster versions and will feature an array of gadgets like a night vision camera with pedestrian detection, onboard computer with internet access and doors that open with the touch of a button.

The current engine choices look like Audi’s 4.2-liter V8 engine developing 350, 450 and 700 HP. Veno says that by next year they will be able to offer the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 from the Corvette ZR1. There is also mention of the company working on an electric version. That’s a lot of choices for a car that has a planned run of about 50 examples total.

All this sounds great, but it would be nice to see an actual car first. Until then enjoy a sideshow that someone on Youtube was kind enough to put together of all the available pictures of the Polish supercar.

2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster Versace

Lamborghini and Versace have teamed up once again to create an ultra-luxury Murciélago. This time, their canvas is the LP640 Roadster.

The new car is a follow-up to a run of ten LP640 Versace hardtops in 2007. Like the coupes before them, the roadsters feature Versace’s designs throughout and are painted in a white pastel color. The interior is covered in embroidered leather bearing Versace’s Greek key fret design on the black-and-white seats, as well as the instrument panel, center console and door panels. Onlookers will be able to recognize the Versace cars by the design on the lower doors and front fascia. All cars will be built to order through Lamoborghini’s ad personam personalization service.

The arrival of the cars will coincide with Versace’s Collection LP640 range of accessories. The line uses black matte calf skin and includes items such as a sports bag, briefcase, suitcase, gloves, driving shoes, belt, wallet, key ring, hat, and jeans. Each item features an engraved palladium tag with both the Versace and Lamorghini logos. The collection will be available at Versace boutiques and Lamborghini showrooms in November.

Lamborghini working on new V12 supercar

In a interview with CarMagazine, Volkswagen Group’s Design Director Walter De Silva confirmed the existence of a new V12 supercar in the future Lamborghini line-up.

He also said that the newly launched Gallardo LP560-4 - will continue to influence future product, specifically the arrow nose and forward projecting air intakes.

The future supercar will be a all-wheel drive model and will be launched after the much-rumored Murcielago SV. The design will be inspired by the Reventon.

About it technology, De Silva only confirmed it will keep the dual clutch transmission as Lamborghini is already in the top performance in 0-100kph with their cars.
