Frank Stephenson resigns as Alfa Romeo design head

Frank Stephenson, head of Alfa Romeo design, has announced that he will step down from his position. Stephenson, who has been with the Fiat Group for the past six years, says his resignation is independent of Fiat’s decision to name former Pininfarina design director as head of the Fiat Group’s design team. According to AutoWeek, Stephenson — 49 — doesn’t have another gig lined up, but with his impressive resume, it shouldn’t be long before some automaker offers the American-born Stephenson a job. Stephenson has had a hand in designing the MINI, BMW X5, Fiat 500, Alfa Romeo Mi.To, Maserati MC12 and Quattroporte, and Ferrari F430 and 612 Scaglietti. Stephenson will be replaced by Christopher Reitz. Sources from http://www.leftlanenews.com
